Power and Performance of the 2023 Jeep Wrangler

The standard engine is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that sends 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. It is available with a mild-hybrid eTorque technology paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.  

The Sahara, Sport, and Rubicon trim levels are available with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that makes 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

The latest model, the plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe has a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine integrated with two electric motors and a 400-volt battery pack. It can go 21 miles using only pure electric power.

Higher trim levels have a 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel engine that makes 260 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. It sends drive to the wheels using an 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission.

The top-of-the-line 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 four-door model uses a 6.4-liter V-8 HEMI engine with 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. It also has a TorqueFlite 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission.
